McDonald is an investor in multiple companies, including Kubos Corporation, Polycade, Fi - Next Generation Dog Collars, Liquid Death Mountain Water, Sunday, Xplore Inc - Space As A Service, SpeQtral, and Spark Grills, with investments active from 2018 to the present. McDonald holds a Master of Business Administration in Entrepreneurship from the University of Colorado Boulder (2010-2012) and a Bachelor of Science in Biological and Physical Sciences from the University of Missouri-Columbia (2004-2008).
