Michael Leitch is an accomplished engineer with extensive experience in carbon removal technologies and research management. Currently serving as Technical Lead for both the XPRIZE Carbon Removal and NRG COSIA Carbon XPRIZE projects since June 2017 at XPRIZE, Michael previously held the roles of Research Manager and Research Engineer at RGL Reservoir Management Inc. from September 2014 to May 2017. Prior to that, experience includes working as a Mechanical Engineer at Regent Energy Group Ltd. and a Structural Engineering Technician at the University of Alberta. Michael's technical background also involves machinist work at Tartan Controls and sailmaking at UK Halsey Sailmakers Northwest. Michael holds a Master of Science in Engineering/Industrial Management from the University of Alberta, a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Calgary, and a Certificate in Machine Tool Technology/Machinist from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology.
