Junaid Islam has a wide range of experience in the technology and security industry. Junaid currently serves as a Board Member and CTO at XQ, where they have developed a Zero Trust messaging service called Secure.chat. Prior to XQ, Junaid was a Partner at OODA LLC, providing strategic advisory services to Global 500 companies on various technology-related issues.
Junaid also has a strong entrepreneurial background, having founded and served as CTO for companies such as Vidder, Inc., where they developed the first network-based Zero Trust Architecture with Software Defined Perimeter (SDP), and Piano Networks, which developed secure IPv6 overlay networks for defense research projects.
Before venturing into their own startups, Junaid gained valuable experience at Bivio Networks, where they served as Founder and CEO, launching the industry's first gigabyte speed general-purpose networking product. Junaid also worked at Cisco Systems as a Lead Architect and at Stratacom, where they helped develop important networking technologies such as Priority PVC Frame Relay and Frame-ATM integration.
Before their career in the private sector, Junaid worked with US Government Agencies in Expeditionary Communications.
From 1984 to 1989, Junaid Islam attended the University of Toronto, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.
