David Powell

David Powell has over two decades of work experience in various engineering roles. David started their career as a Consultant at Alcatel Bel in 1998 and then moved on to work as a Principal Engineer at ilotron from 2000 to 2001. David then joined Azea Networks as a Principal Engineer from 2001 to 2007. Since 2007, David has been working as a Principal Engineer at Xtera, where they continue to contribute their expertise.

David Powell earned a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Newcastle University in 1987. David furthered their education at the same university and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Throughwater Acoustic Communications in 1991. In 2022, they are expected to complete a Master of Science degree in Engineering Management from the University of Leeds.
