Principal Systems Engineer at Xtera

Ed Zak has a diverse work experience in the engineering field. Ed started their career as a Systems Engineer at Corning Incorporated in 1986 and held various roles within the company until 2001. During their time at Corning Incorporated, they specialized in Optical Fiber Measurements technology and also served as a department supervisor.

In 2002, they joined Ciena as a Lead Engineer, where they focused on Systems Validation Testing. Ed worked there for nine years before moving on to AAI Corporation in 2011. At AAI Corporation, they worked as a Systems Engineer IV, specifically in UAS Test, for a period of six months.

In 2012, they joined Xtera, where they first served as a Lead Systems Validation Engineer, leading systems validation for DWDM fiber optic telecommunication systems. During their time at Xtera, they also took on the role of Principal Systems Engineer. Ed Zak's work experience includes responsibilities such as systems validation, sales engineering, field engineering support, and product training. Ed'smost recent position was at Xtera, where they continue to work as a Principal Systems Engineer.

Ed Zak attended Elyria High School from 1979 to 1982, earning a High School diploma. From 1982 to 1986, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University.
