Wayne Pelouch

Wayne Pelouch is an accomplished professional in the field of photonics with extensive experience in leadership and technical roles. Currently serving as Vice President of Photonics at Xtera since February 2017, Wayne oversees fiber optic product development and system architecture. Prior to this, Wayne held the position of Director of Photonics Engineering at Xtera Communications from July 2001 to August 2016, managing various photonics initiatives and contributing significantly to research, product design, and numerous patents. Before joining Xtera, Wayne worked as a Senior Scientist at Coherent Technologies, focusing on funding proposals and laboratory research related to advanced laser technologies. Wayne began their career as a Laser Physicist at Lions Eye Institute & Q-Vis Ltd., developing innovative laser systems for refractive eye surgery that contributed to a successful IPO. Wayne holds a doctorate in Applied Physics from Cornell University and a dual degree in Physics and Science Engineering from Northwestern University.
