Imran U. has a diverse range of work experience. Imran started their career as a Research Assistant at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education of the University of Toronto in August 2020, where they worked until January 2021. During this time, they gained valuable research experience.
In September 2020, Imran U. also joined the University of Toronto as a Research Student. Under the supervision of Dr. El-Sherbeni, they conducted research on the effect of iron deficiency on immune function. Additionally, they worked under the guidance of Dr. Adria Giacca to explore the role of PKC-delta on hepatic glucose and lipid metabolism. In both roles, Imran U. utilized various techniques such as qRT-PCR, gel electrophoresis, and staining.
In December 2020, Imran U. joined Xtract One Technologies as a Laboratory Technician. Imran held this position until April 2022 when they were promoted to Junior Software Engineer. Imran then advanced to the role of Software Engineer in November 2022.
Throughout their work experiences, Imran U. has demonstrated a strong passion for research, gained technical skills, and shown a willingness to grow in their career.
Imran U. began their education journey by attending Bloor Collegiate Institute from 2012 to 2016, where they obtained their High School Diploma. Following that, they enrolled at the University of Toronto from 2017 to 2021, and earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Pharmacology, Immunology, and Statistics.
Later, Imran pursued further studies at Ryerson University starting in 2021. Imran is currently working towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science, which is expected to be completed in 2025.
In addition to their academic pursuits, Imran obtained certification in Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Level C from the Canadian Red Cross in December 2019.
