Laura Powers

Laura Powers is a Senior Materials Scientist and Petrographer with over 30 years of experience in assessing the performance and condition of construction materials. They have previously held positions as Principal Microscopist at CTLGroup and Associate Principal at Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc., where they focused on petrographic microscopy and investigations related to material distress and failure. Currently, Laura provides materials analysis support at YA Group while also managing projects and mentoring younger staff. Their educational background includes a B.S. in Geology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a Master of Science in Geology and Geochemistry from the University of Saskatchewan.
