Jack Banks is currently serving as an Analyst in Performance Science and previously held the role of Associate in Quantitative Analysis at the New York Yankees since September 2023. Banks gained valuable experience at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from September 2019 to May 2023, working as an Undergraduate Research Assistant under Dr. Daniel J, where models for predicting individual player Weighted On-Base Average (wOBA) were created. Additional roles at the university included Student Data Analyst for Women's Basketball, where a Shiny application was developed to provide coaching staff with updated player and team statistics, and Supervisor for Event Staff at the State Farm Center, which involved overseeing event operations. Experience in baseball analytics was further enhanced through internships with the Battle Creek Battle Jacks, where Wins Above Replacement (WAR) was calculated, and the Spearfish Sasquatch Baseball Club, serving as the official scorekeeper. Jack Banks holds a Bachelor of Science in Statistics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and graduated high school from Young Magnet High School in 2019.
