Mike Mellis is the Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer for the New York Yankees, a position held since 2019. With decades of experience, they previously served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel for Major League Baseball from 1998 to 2019, and held roles including Deputy General Counsel for New Media. Earlier in their career, Mellis was an Associate at Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler LLP and a Judicial Clerk for the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of New York. They earned a J.D. from Harvard Law School and a B.A. in History from Williams College.
