Hadi Pir

Hadi Pir has a diverse work experience. Hadi co-founded and served as the vice president at Yazda since 2014. In 2016, they worked as an English Teacher at Lincoln Public Schools. Prior to that, from 2012 to 2014, they were involved in job training at AmeriCorps. Hadi also gained experience as a Media Assistant at Ipsos from 2011 to 2012. Hadi worked as an Interpreter at various organizations, including Global Linguist Solutions, US Embassy Amman, Jordan, US Army, L-3 Communications, and TITAN/National Security Solutions, from 2003 to 2011.

Hadi Pir holds a Bachelor's degree in Teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language/ESL Language Instructor from the University of Mosul, which they obtained from 1999 to 2003. Hadi then pursued a Teacher certificate in ESL/ELL at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln from 2014 to 2015. Hadi Pir further completed a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Teaching, Learning, and Teacher Education from the same university between 2015 and 2018. Currently, they are a PhD student in Teaching, Learning, and Teacher Education at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Yazda is a global community-led institution that protects and champions all religious and ethnic minority communities, including Assyrians, Chaldeans, Kakais, Shabaks, Yazidis, and others in Iraq, Kurdistan Region, and Syria.
