Daniel Popescu

Daniel Popescu is an experienced technology professional currently serving as the Group Tech Lead for the Security organization at Yelp since December 2015. In this role, Daniel oversees Application Security, Corporate Security, Infrastructure Security, and Security Platform teams, focusing on enhancing security awareness and best practices within the engineering community at Yelp. Previously, Daniel held various engineering and leadership positions at Microsoft from October 2008 to December 2015, including Senior Software Engineer roles where significant improvements to software development lifecycle and testing methodologies were implemented. Earlier career experiences include software development and quality assurance roles at CallWave and technical support at UCSB, with educational credentials in Computer Engineering from UC Santa Barbara.
