Chris Stern

Chris Stern serves on the Board of Trustees and National Council for YMCA England & Wales, where efforts focus on community support and combatting hardship and homelessness. As a Board Trustee for YMCA St Paul's Group, Chris collaborates with others to facilitate individual and community development. In the role of Senior Independent Trustee for StepChange Debt Charity, the largest debt charity in the UK, Chris contributed to efforts aimed at eradicating problem debt and briefly served as interim Chair. Chris holds a Non-Executive Director position for the Centrica Engineers Pension scheme and has extensive experience in various leadership roles at British Gas, including Chief Executive Officer of British Gas Insurance. With a background in finance and accountancy, Chris has held significant positions at Centrica and related entities, including overseeing the disposal of AA from Centrica with a transaction value of £1.75 billion.
