Bénédicte Lorrette

Bénédicte Lorrette has a diverse range of work experience in various research and development roles. Bénédicte is currently serving as the Animal Nutrition & Health R&D Director at Ÿnsect, where they manage teams and projects and leads the development of new insect-based products and processes. Prior to this, they worked as the Head of Product Innovation R&D, also at Ÿnsect, focusing on the characterization and analysis of products and leading a team of researchers.

Before joining Ÿnsect, Bénédicte worked as a Senior Analytical Chemistry Researcher at a previous company. Bénédicte has also served as a Quality Control Manager at Evonik Advanced Botanicals, where they were responsible for ensuring the conformity of cosmetic ingredients and developing analytical methods. Additionally, they have worked as a Research Engineer at LAFFORT and as a Scientific Researcher at the Institut des Sciences de la Vigne et du Vin, where they conducted research on the influence of vine diseases on the quality of grapes and wines.

Bénédicte has a background in academia as well, having worked as a University Lecturer and Researcher at Faculté d'oenologie and as a Doctoral Student at INRA, Avignon. Bénédicte'sdoctoral research focused on physicochemical modeling of gastric contents and the evaluation of the antioxidant power of food polyphenols. Bénédicte also has experience as a Research Officer at the Unité de Recherche Flavic (INRA-ENESAD), where they conducted research in the field of flavonoids.

Bénédicte Lorrette received their education from various institutions. From 2001 to 2004, they attended ENSAIA, the École Nationale Supérieure d'Agronomie et des Industries Alimentaires, where they obtained a degree in Industries Alimentaires. Bénédicte then pursued further studies at INPL, the Institut National Polytechnique de Lorraine, from 2003 to 2004, earning a DEA in Procédés biotechnologiques et alimentaires. Finally, from 2005 to 2008, they attended Université d'Avignon et des Pays de Vaucluse and completed a Thèse de doctorat in Chimie.
