Eugene Coetzee

Eugene Coetzee has an extensive work experience in the field of software engineering and technology. Eugene currently serves as the Director of Engineering at Yoco since 2022. Prior to this, they worked at ACI Worldwide where they held multiple leadership roles, including Vice President of Software Engineering and Director of Software Engineering. Eugene was responsible for leading large teams of software engineers, quality engineers, Scrum Masters, DevOps engineers, architects, project managers, and managers in developing mission-critical payment solutions.

Coetzee also has experience as a Co-founder of Jobbie, a mobile app that connected users to trusted workers, and managed all aspects of the business from 2017 to 2021. Eugene started their career at S1 Corporation (formerly Mosaic Software) as a Software Engineer, where they played a key role in the development and deployment of payment solutions such as Postilion. Coetzee later took on managerial roles within the company, leading teams in level 3 support, emergency feature implementation, project management, and analysis of new feature requests.

Eugene Coetzee completed a BSc Cum Laude degree in Computer Science and Mathematical Statistics from the University of Port Elizabeth, from the years 2000 to 2002. Eugene later went on to earn a BSc Hons Cum Laude in Computer Science from the same university in 2003.
