Daniel Scales

Daniel Scales has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Daniel currently serves as the Chief Brand Counsel at The Linux Foundation since May 2021. Prior to joining The Linux Foundation, they worked at Choate, Hall & Stewart LLP as Of Counsel for ten years from May 2011 to April 2021. Before that, they were an IP Counsel at Avid Technology from February 2008 to April 2011. Daniel also worked as an Attorney at Choate, Hall & Stewart LLP from February 2005 to February 2008. Earlier in their career, they were an Associate at Testa, Hurwitz & Thibeault, LLP from September 2003 to February 2005. Daniel started their career as a Senior Consultant at Ernst & Young LLP in July 1997 and worked there until August 2000.

Daniel Scales completed their education at three different institutions. Daniel first attended Scotia-Glenville High School, but no specific degree or field of study is provided for this period. Following this, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Economics at Yale University from 1993 to 1997.
