Eric Ball

Release Engineer at Yocto Project

Eric Ball has a diverse work experience in various roles, starting from their role as an Office Assistant at the California Housing Finance Agency from March 2008 to August 2011. Eric then worked as a Student Assistant at CalSTRS from June 2012 to August 2012. Following that, Eric joined the Los Alamos National Laboratory as a Software Developer, where they primarily focused on Python development for the Security Tool On *NIX (STONIX) from November 2014 to February 2017. During their time at the laboratory, they also created a Continuous Integration system for the STONIX development team using Jenkins, Puppet, git, GitHub, VirtualBox, and VMware. After their tenure at the laboratory, Eric worked as a DevOps Contractor at CE RESOURCE INC. for a brief period from February 2017 to April 2017. Eric then joined the California Community Colleges Technology Center as a DevOps Engineer and worked there from May 2017 to July 2018. Currently, Eric is employed at The Linux Foundation as a Release Engineer, which they started in July 2018.

Eric Ball attended Sacramento City College from 2007 to 2009, where they obtained an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Information Systems Security. Following this, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science at California State University-Sacramento, completing their studies from 2011 to 2014.
