Young Expert Programmes
Steven van Rossum is an experienced project and program manager currently serving as Project Leader for the implementation feasibility of Binnenhavengeld and sustainable navigation at Gemeente Zaanstad since October 2023. Holding dual roles, Steven also acts as Interim Programme Manager for WTEX10 at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate, focusing on accelerating Dutch water technology exports. Additionally, Steven is the Chair of the Steering Committee for Young Expert Programmes and has a background as CEO of Wereld Waternet and Program Director at Waternet, overseeing significant organizational changes. With a strong foundation in geography from Utrecht University and Hogeschool Holland, Steven has also led various successful projects and managed teams across multiple sectors, particularly in water management and information technology.

Young Expert Programmes
Professional coaching, capacity building training and work experience placement encouraging young professionals to start an international career in the water, agrofood and/or energy sectors. Young Expert Programmes, also known as YEP Programmes, aims to build expertise in the water, agrofood and renewable energy fields and create a young, refreshing, and inspiring international network. Whereas Dutch Young Experts are given the opportunity to gain relevant international experience through Dutch organisations operating in developing countries and emerging markets, non-Dutch Young Experts can acquire relevant work experience in an international environment with a Dutch organisation operating in their country. To achieve this, YEP Programmes offers financial support to Dutch organisations employing Young Experts for the realisation of international development aid and trade projects. By building sustainable relations and capacity as a network in the field of water, agrofood and renewable energy, together we contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals. YEP Programmes is an initiative of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs carried out by the Netherlands Water Partnership, the Netherlands Food Partnership, and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency.
