MacKenzie Root

Mackenzie Root has extensive experience in leadership and management roles within both non-profit and service-oriented organizations. Currently serving as an Area Director at Young Life since January 2014, Mackenzie also has experience as a Staff Associate and Volunteer Leader, contributing over 15 hours each week to support students from State College Area High School. Previous roles include training volunteers as a Kitchen Intern and leading a team to prepare meals for campers. Mackenzie has also worked as an Assistant Store Manager at Starbucks, managing a high-volume store and ensuring excellent customer service. In addition, experience as a Dining Room Attendant and Teaching Assistant at Penn State University complements a strong foundation in hospitality management, supported by a Bachelor of Science degree from Penn State University obtained in 2017.
