Everyone remembers when they learn to ride a bike. Those first tentative pedal rotations, then confidence builds, you turn a corner and then, you have wind in your helmet. It's an accomplishment to savour. But then, there's realization that you have freedom! You can go places. No more waiting, or relying on others. You can connect to peers, community and opportunity. Bikes = Freedom. 
We deliver safe, fun and accessible cycling eduction in Calgary high schools, reaching teens in PE classes. Many don't even know they want a bike, or want to learn to cycle because they've only thought of a  bike as a toy. Not transportation. 
After a four or five day unit in PE, or an ELL class, we offer youth a free refurbishes bike, helmet, lock and they can go and pedal their path.
