Birgit van Dongen

Birgit van Dongen is a highly skilled GZ-psycholoog with extensive experience in child and adolescent psychiatry. Currently serving at Youz since January 2023, Birgit previously held the same role at Altrecht, specializing in the Lekstroom region from May 2021 to January 2023. Prior experience includes training as a psychologist at Yulius, focusing on intensive care, trauma, and attachment therapy from 2016 to 2021, as well as conducting diagnostic and therapeutic interventions for children and adolescents with complex psychiatric issues. Earlier roles include a research assistant position focused on post-traumatic stress in young children at de Bascule, and psychological support in medical settings at UMC Utrecht. Educational qualifications include a GZ-psychologist degree from RINO Groep, a Master’s in Child and Adolescent Psychology from Leiden University, and a Bachelor's in Pedagogiek from HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht.
