The German biotech company YUMAB was founded in 2012 as spin-off the University of Braunschweig. In little more than five years, YUMAB (a phonetic play on “HUMAB”, which stands for “human monoclonal antibody and in which the “Y” symbolizes the well-known antibody structure) has become a global player in human monoclonal antibody (mAb) development, and drives the general trend in the immunotherapy space toward the use of fully human mAbs for therapeutic applications.
