Luca Schmidtke

Luca Schmidtke is currently an Applied Scientist at Zalando, focusing on machine learning and computer vision for size and fit recommendations. With a PhD in Computer Science from Imperial College London, Luca has extensive experience in deep learning, particularly in computer vision applications, including segmentation and object detection. Past roles include an Applied Scientist Intern at Amazon and internships at Siemens Healthineers, where Luca worked on brain MR imaging, and Aidence, focusing on synthesizing pulmonary nodules using generative adversarial networks. Luca's academic journey began with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Physics from Heidelberg University and the University of Amsterdam, respectively.
