Natan Morar, PhD has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Natan currently serves as the Head of Engineering at Zaptic since March 2023. Prior to this, they worked as the Product Engineering Lead at Zaptic from April 2022 to March 2023, and as a Senior Software Engineer from November 2021 to April 2022.
Before joining Zaptic, Natan was a Co-Founder of Odeen from March 2019 to December 2021. At Odeen, they played a key role in democratizing the self-publishing industry by leveraging modern technology to empower more people to write and earn from their work.
Natan also worked as a Senior Full-stack Software Engineer at NC-Vision from October 2019 to November 2021. During their tenure, they focused on implementing and improving a No-Code platform and handled tasks related to rest and socket APIs, UI design, and task implementation.
In 2020, Natan worked at the University of Birmingham, where they contributed as a Software Design and Development professional. Natan was involved in the design and development of a Mission Planning system for firefighting, utilizing technologies such as Typescript, NodeJS, Electron, Express, and Socket.io.
Prior to that, Natan served as the CEO of Whiletrue from July 2018 to June 2020.
Natan'searlier experiences include working at the University of Birmingham as a Software Design and Development professional, PhD student, and Postgraduate Teaching Assistant. Natan also worked as a Software & Hardware Developer at Quickbird and held multiple roles in European research projects at the University of Birmingham, including Researcher, UI/UX Designer, and Developer in the SPEEDD European Research Project, and Developer of Specialized Electronics Systems in the CogWatch European Research Project.
Additionally, Natan gained experience as a Student Ambassador for the University of Birmingham from 2012 to 2014.
Natan Morar, PhD, began their education by earning a Baccalaureate degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, and English from the "Moise Nicoara" National College in Arad, Romania from 2007 to 2011. Natan then pursued a degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering at the University of Birmingham from 2011 to 2014. Finally, they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Human Computer Interaction from the University of Birmingham, where they studied from 2014 to 2019.
