Marc Alexander has a long and varied career in business intelligence and data analytics. Marc began their career in 1997 as an Industrial Engineer with Argent Consulting, where they developed and managed a world-class Advance Ship operation and was the Project Manager for the start-up of a re-manufacturing line. In 1999, they joined Qualcomm Personal Electronics as a Manufacturing & Integration Engineer, where they supported product through NPI and into volume manufacturing, and performed root cause analysis and corrective action plans for design issues and field failures. In 2000, they moved to OMM (Optical Micro Machines) as a Manufacturing & Integration Engineer, where they defined requirements for a Manufacturing Execution System, developed all the production reporting systems, and developed a comprehensive capacity model to perform 'what-if' scenario cost analysis. In 2002, they joined Eaton Powerware as a Database Engineer, where they developed and implemented a centralized database to collect test data, and identified warranty cost reduction opportunities. In 2005, they moved to Bridgepoint Education as a Senior Database Administrator, where they played a key role in defining and documenting business processes to manage student life-cycle in their information systems. Marc also co-developed the data warehousing/ETL framework behind their Enterprise Data Warehouse. In 2014, they became the Director of Business Intelligence at Mako Labs, where they were responsible for shifting the paradigm for on-time and accurate information delivery. Marc overhauled the ETL strategy, cut processing time by 50%, shifted to parallel processing, and coupled disparate processes that ran across remote servers. Marc also overhauled, streamlined, and raised the quality-bar for accountability and reliability of an off-shore data entry team. In 2017, they joined Zebit as the Sr. Director of BI & Reporting, where their team is responsible for integrating source systems into Kimball-based data warehouse and delivering reporting through Tableau. They also develop and support many 3rd party integrations including feeds to/from accounting, marketing, and collections systems.
Marc Alexander attended Oklahoma State University from 1990 to 1996, where they received a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering and Management. In 2006, they completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Ashford University, specializing in Business Administration and Management.
