Michael Wandel

Michael Wandel is a seasoned professional in application security and cyber threat intelligence with extensive experience across various organizations. Currently serving as a Senior Application Security Engineer at Zego since August 2025, Wandel previously held the position of Senior Application Security Manager at SITA from April 2023 to August 2025. Prior roles at Aviva included DevSecOps Lead, Senior Network Security Engineer, and Threat Intelligence Manager. Wandel’s analytical skills were honed at Control Risks as a Senior Cyber Threat Intelligence Analyst, and earlier experience at City of London Police involved leading a team of intelligence analysts while also authoring strategic reports for senior officials. Additional roles encompassed technical analysis at CERT-UK and intelligence research at the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau, as well as foundational work in intelligence indexing at Thames Valley Police. Michael Wandel holds a degree in Modern Middle Eastern History from The University of Manchester.
