Colorectal cancer is one of the most preventable diseases in America. Yet screening rates have stalled, not because of awareness or access, but because of the prep.

For decades, patients have been asked to manage bowel preparation at home: days of dietary restriction, large volumes of harsh laxatives, and an uncomfortable, uncertain experience with no guarantee of adequate results. For millions of eligible adults, this is the reason screening is delayed, or avoided entirely.

The impact is significant. Inadequate preparation affects an estimated 18–35% of colonoscopies, contributing to missed lesions, repeat procedures, same-day cancellations, and substantial costs across the healthcare system.

Zera Medical is building a better way. Our flagship system, ZeraFlow, is a clinic-based, nurse-supervised warm-water bowel preparation performed immediately before colonoscopy. By shifting prep from an uncontrolled home setting into a standardized clinical workflow, we aim to improve consistency, patient experience, and clinical outcomes.

ZeraFlow is currently pursuing FDA 510(k) clearance and has been used in real-world clinical practice internationally. It is not yet cleared by the FDA or available for sale in the United States.
