Rafal Baran is a seasoned research chemist currently driving the development of e-fuel technologies at Zero® since May 2023, with a focus on improving process efficiency and product quality while facilitating technology transfer to pilot plant scales. Prior to this role, Rafal served as a research scientist at Johnson Matthey, where expertise was applied in characterizing metal-supported catalysts and porous materials, contributing to product development through an understanding of structure-activity relationships. Experience also includes a postdoctoral fellowship at ESRF - The European Synchrotron, mastering advanced synchrotron characterization techniques, and earlier roles in both research and teaching capacities in chemical engineering, culminating in a strong academic foundation with multiple degrees from AGH University of Krakow and Pierre and Marie Curie University.
