Michael Beemer currently serves as Chief Commercial Officer and Chief Project Officer at Zero Emission Services since May 2023. Prior to this role, Michael held various positions at ING from October 2016 to March 2023, including Vice President of Corporate Finance in M&A Advisory. Earlier experience includes roles as Senior Consultant and Consultant in Corporate Finance at PwC, as well as an internship at ABN AMRO Bank N.V. Michael's career began with internships at D.E MASTER BLENDERS 1753 and Tata Steel, along with involvement in the Financial Study Association Amsterdam as a Board Member and Coordinator. Academically, Michael earned an MSc and BSc in Financial Management from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and participated in an exchange program in Finance at Tecnológico de Monterrey, in addition to receiving an Advanced Certificate from the University of Cambridge.

ZES introduces a new energy system for making inland shipping more sustainable. ZES will realize this with emission-free navigation infrastructure that is acccessible to all parties involved. Clean, climate-neutral and ready to compete with fossil fuels. ZES offers a complete range of products and services, based on interchangeable battery containers charged with renewable power, charging stations, technical support and an innovative payment concept for ship owners. The shares of ZES are held by four companies: supplier of emission-free transportation ecosystems Ebusco, ING, maritime technology company Wärtsilä and the Port of Rotterdam Authority. The Ministry of Infrastructure & Water Management is supporting this initiative together with the Province of South Holland.
