Ken W.

Ken W. has extensive experience in the field of IT and cloud computing. Ken started their career at Scoring Systems Inc. as a Developer in 2004 before moving on to Perot Systems Government Services, where they worked as an IT Technical Program Leader from 2005 to 2008. Ken then joined NOAA Coastal Services Center as an IT Technical Program Lead, working as a contractor for PSGS.

In 2008, Ken joined Earth Resources Technology as a Systems Engineer/Systems Admin, where they were responsible for system backups, Active Directory administration, and implementing Microsoft Hyper-V architecture. Ken also performed daily operations support and storage area network administration.

From 2011 to 2015, Ken worked at NOAA as an IT Specialist, focusing on server administration for Windows systems, including Hyper-V clusters, SQL clusters, Active Directory, and WSUS.

In 2015, Ken joined Microsoft as a Cloud Solution Architect. Over the years, they held various roles, including Principal Cloud Solution Architect and Cloud Solution Architect (Security). Their responsibilities involved supporting customers in their Azure cloud adoption journey, implementing security and compliance controls, and ensuring alignment with industry security frameworks such as NIST-CSF, PCI-DSS, and ISO 27. 001.

In 2018, Ken briefly served as the President of MKE Properties, LLC, before joining Zero Networks in 2023 as a Customer Engineer. As a Customer Engineer, Ken is currently responsible for providing technical support and assistance to clients.

Ken W. has demonstrated expertise in cloud security, server administration, system architecture, and IT program leadership throughout their career.

Ken W. has a diverse education history. Ken first attended Horry Georgetown Technical College from 1998 to 2000, where they obtained an Associate of Science degree in Computer Technology. Ken then pursued their bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Coastal Carolina University, where they studied from 2000 to 2004. After acquiring their bachelor's degree, they went on to pursue a Master of Science degree in Cyber Security from the University of Maryland Global Campus, which they completed between 2010 and 2012.

In addition to their formal education, Ken has obtained several certifications throughout their career. Some notable certifications include Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert from Microsoft (obtained in July 2022), AWS Cloud Quest: Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services (obtained in October 2022), and the Microsoft Security Immersion Completion Badge from Microsoft (obtained in February 2023). Ken has also completed various certifications in cloud technologies, cybersecurity, and software development from institutions such as Microsoft, LinkedIn, and Coursera.
