Garret Smith

Garret Smith is a skilled multimedia professional with a diverse background in photography, film production, and outdoor adventure. Currently employed as a Swing Tech, sound mixer, and camera operator for National Geographic since March 2019, Garret has contributed to an 8-episode documentary. As the founder of DirtMyth Creative, Garret has been traveling across the United States since 2010, working as a photographer, editor, camera operator, and producer. Additionally, Garret has freelanced for reputable companies such as NEMO Equipment, Patagonia, YETI Coolers, and Outdoor Life Magazine, while also serving as a photographer and camera operator for Zero Point Zero Production Inc. Garret's early career includes a role as a ski lift mechanic at Mount Shasta Ski Park and as a member of the US Forest Service's elite Hotshot Crew, highlighting a strong background in team dynamics and outdoor skills. Garret holds a Bachelor of Arts in Photojournalism from the University of Montana.
