Peter Gallen has a diverse and extensive work experience in the aviation industry. Peter started their career in 1998 as an Aviation Operations Manager in New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. Peter then moved on to become the President and Country Manager of Air bp Canada Ltd from 2000 to 2003. Following that, they took up the role of Aviation Country Manager in New Zealand, where they managed the Aviation fuel and lubricant business.

In 2010, Peter became the Regional Business Development Manager for Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands, leading strategic projects and commercial transactions. From 2012 to 2018, they held the position of Global Commercial Development Director for Air bp, focusing on business development activities in Russia, India, Mexico, Indonesia, and Vietnam. During this time, they were responsible for market access strategy, government engagement, and negotiating complex commercial transactions.

Peter then joined bp in 2018 as the Global Commercial Development Director for the Eastern Hemisphere, Russia & FSU, Middle East & Africa. In this role, they led the commercial development growth strategy for the BP global aviation business in these regions. Their responsibilities included identifying and accessing new growth markets, establishing relationships, and managing complex commercial transactions.

Currently, Peter Gallen is serving as a Business Owner and Director of a consultancy firm. Additionally, starting from 2022, they hold the position of Global Head of Commercial and Strategy-Infrastructure at ZeroAvia, focusing on the global commercial aspects of the company's infrastructure.

Peter Gallen attended Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management in 2012, where they completed the BP Sales and Marketing Academy programme in Sales and Marketing. In 2011, they also earned a Certificate in Company Direction in Corporate Governance from the Institute of Directors in New Zealand. Peter has not specified the start and end years for their executive program in International Business at Monash Business School nor for their Bachelor of Engineering (Mech) - Hons 1st degree at the University of Canterbury. Additionally, they obtained a membership at the Institute of Directors in New Zealand in December 2011 and was a previous member of the Institute of Professional Engineers NZ and Registered Engineer.
