Demetre Tryfiatis has a diverse range of work experience in various roles related to product management, design, and industrial engineering. In 2006, they began their career as an Industrial Designer at Escea Fireplaces, where they developed parts for the gas fire product range and worked on marketing collateral. From 2006 to 2007, Demetre worked as a Design Engineer at Intralux Australia, responsible for developing new products for the commercial interior lighting market.
In 2007, they joined Wagners as an Industrial Designer, focusing on expanding the application of the company's unique product offerings. From 2009 to 2010, Demetre worked as a Freelance Industrial Designer at Boucher & Co, assisting with the design and development of bespoke products. In 2010, they took on a short-term contract as an Industrial Designer at HUB STREET EQUIPMENT PYT LTD, working on street furniture design for local and international markets.
From 2010 to 2014, Demetre worked as a Project Manager + Designer at Box and Dice, where they managed multiple projects and collaborated with various industries on product development. In 2014, they joined Instyle Contract Textiles as a Product Manager + Design, driving growth through the expansion of existing and new product divisions. Demetre worked closely with industrial designers and managed the development of custom and standardized products for international markets.
In 2017, Demetre joined Koala as a Design Manager, responsible for managing the design team and overseeing the development of new products. Demetre later transitioned to the role of Product Manager, focusing on product strategy. In 2021, they joined Plus 9 Insight, where they worked in Product Strategy. Currently, they are working as a Product Manager at zeroco.com.au since January 2022.
Demetre Tryfiatis completed their Bachelor's degree in Industrial and Product Design from Otago Polytechnic between 2002 and 2005. Prior to that, they obtained a Diploma of Multimedia from the National College of Design & Technology, where they studied from 2000 to 2001. In 2016, Demetre enrolled in General Assembly to pursue Product Management without completing a specific degree.
