George Tsai is over 30 years of experience leading research, product design and development, operations, quality, and manufacturing engineering of medical device companies, Mr. George Tsai brings an innovative spin to the storage computing industry through his expertise in high precision electro-mechanical systems, regulatory economics, and cost-reduction performance management. Mr. Tsai was the Vice President of R&D and Operations for Equinox Ophthalmic, developing a novel treatment for glaucoma. As the Director of R&D for Visiogen, he led full programs encompassing multiple projects from conception to development to manufacturing, product transfer, and commercialization. He has had three successful venture exits which include the acquisition of Visiogen by Abbott, Percusurge acquired by Medtronic, and Menlo Care acquired by Johnson & Johnson. His devices are used in cardiology, ophthalmology, arthroscopic surgery, protective cooling, AAA stents and drug delivery. He is now applying his medical device expertise to the IT storage industry to bring sustainability to long-term data preservation. Mr. Tsai has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from U.C Berkeley and a MS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor.
