Robert Nelson

Robert Nelson has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Robert is currently the Head of Engineering at Zilch, where they lead the New Customer Domain and manages multiple Engineering Managers, Development Squads, and Business Stakeholders. Robert supervises custom software development across various areas such as Onboarding, Risk Decisioning, Fraud/KYC, Customer Acquisition, System Administration, and Customer Support/Retention on both Web and Mobile platforms. Prior to this role, they were a Software Engineering Manager at Zilch, where they reported to the CTO and managed technical teams to deliver high-quality software efficiently.

Before joining Zilch, Robert worked at Accenture as a Technology Manager, where they served as a Scrum Master and Technical Lead for an International Health Retailer project. Robert managed a multi-region team and oversaw agile, custom IT delivery across the Nordics and the UK. Robert also led Java-based custom development and migration to the cloud (Azure) for new and legacy software systems.

Earlier in their career, Robert held roles as an Associate Manager and Technology Consultant at Accenture, a Technology Consultant at Deloitte Digital, a Prototype Development Engineer at Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd, and an Engineering Intern at Heber Limited. Robert also gained experience as a Junior Programmer at Toplevel Computing.

Robert Nelson obtained their education from the University of Cambridge, where they completed a MA Cantab (2.i) and MEng with Merit in Mechanical Engineering. Prior to that, they attended Dean Close School and received an A Level degree with a grade of A in Maths, Further Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and Design Technology. Additionally, they hold certifications such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Foundations 2020 Certified Associate, Amazon Web Services Solutions Architect Associate, and SAFe® 4 Certified Agilist.
