Patrick Xu has worked in a variety of roles since 2016. In 2016, they were a Web Developer for Network to Assist Chinese Rural Education. In 2018, they were a Software Developer Internship for Leopard Systems. During this role, they improved the PDF component written in C#, designed and discussed embedding Selenium test framework into the system, and improved GPS component to capture user's speed and location. In 2019, they were a Research Assistant at University of Melbourne. During this role, they designed and implemented a system with a variety of Locality-Sensitive Hashing (LSH) methods, ran on different datasets and analysed the results. Patrick also worked closely with researchers and met on a regular basis. Since 2021, they have been a Senior Software Engineer and Research Engineer at Zilliz.
Patrick Xu obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Melbourne in 2017, followed by a Master's degree in Computer Science from the same institution in 2020. In 2018, they obtained a Certificate in Competitive Programmer's Core Skills from Coursera. In 2022, they obtained a Certificate in Fundamentals of Accelerated Computing with CUDA C/C++ from NVIDIA. Patrick is currently in the process of obtaining a Certificate in NVIDIA DLI Certificate – Accelerating CUDA C++ Applications with Concurrent Streams from the NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute.
