JIE GAO (He/Him)

Jie Gao is a Senior NLP Researcher at ZILO, a role he has held since 2025. He is an experienced AI scientist and engineer with over a decade of experience across both industry and academia. Jie specializes in Natural Language Processing (NLP), generative AI, and large-scale information systems, with a focus on building real-world, trustworthy AI applications.

Previously, he held a Staff-level NLP research and engineering position at Logically AI, where he built systems for fact-checking, disinformation detection, and influence analysis. He has also held academic research roles and conducted PhD research in NLP at the University of Sheffield, contributing to EU/UK-funded projects in semantic technologies and urban data analytics. Jie began his career as a senior software engineer in enterprise platforms and holds degrees in NLP, Web Technology, and Computer Science.
