Todd Trimble

Director of Engineering at ZincFive

Todd Trimble has over 20 years of experience in engineering and research. In 2020, they began working as the Director of Engineering for ZincFive, Inc., a world leader in innovation and delivery of nickel-zinc based energy storage and delivery solutions. Todd also began working as a Visiting Professor at Arizona State University. From 2008 to 2020, Trimble was the Director of Research and Development and Senior Principal Scientist at NantEnergy, where they were part of a small group of scientists and engineers that developed the core technology of advanced, scalable metal-air batteries. From 2004 to 2020, they held two positions at Arizona State University, first as an Assistant Professor of Research and then as an Assistant Professor of Research at the Center for Applied Nano-BioScience. Todd's work at ASU focused on interfacial electrochemical processes, and they designed and built a high sensitivity laser beam deflection system for measuring stresses induced via electrochemical processes. Todd also performed realistic, all-atom molecular dynamics simulations on single-strand DNA molecules.

Todd Trimble obtained their Bachelor of Science in Physics from American University in 1989. Todd then went on to earn their Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis between 1990 and 1992. Finally, they completed their Doctor of Philosophy in Materials Science and Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University in 1999.
