Co-Founder & Chief Wellness Officer at Zing

Walter Gjergja's work experience includes a diverse range of roles and industries. Walter currently serves as a Board Advisor and Head of Mindfulness at Palta, where they advise on topics related to mindfulness, well-being, wellness, and fitness. Walter also contributes philosophy-based strategy inputs and mindfulness-based user behavior suggestions across all projects.

In addition, they are the Co-Founder and Chief Wellness Officer at Zing Coach, a fitness app developed by Palta. In this role, Walter leads the Zing wellness board, authors the Zing training methodology, and advises on fitness and motivational content. Walter also provides philosophy-based strategy inputs and mindfulness-based user behavior suggestions.

Prior to their roles at Palta, Walter was involved in sharing the ancient wisdoms and methods of Shaolin culture as a Shi Xing Mi. Walter worked with various international companies, athletes, sports teams, government institutions, universities, and conferences in over thirty countries. Walter focused on applied philosophy, mindfulness, effectiveness, performance, well-being, wellness, and fitness. Walter also published three books in five languages and was featured in numerous press articles and documentaries.

Before their work with Shaolin Shi Xing Mi, Walter co-founded and directed Shaolin Culture Centers from 2003 to 2013. Walter also worked as an Associate Partner Ventures Consulting at 3i Group plc from 2001 to 2003 and as the CEO of Davstock Ventures - BCD Online plc from 1999 to 2001. Prior to that, they served as the COO of Davstock Ventures - Internet Incubator from 1998 to 1999.

Walter's earlier roles include being a Strategic Projects Manager at Fairfax Media from 1997 to 1998 and a Business Development Consultant at Citysearch.com from 1996 to 1997. Walter started their career as a Professional Athlete in Wushu Kungfu from 1991 to 1996.

Walter Gjergja's education history began in 1988 when they attended St Bernard's College, where they obtained a high school degree. From 1985 to 1995, they then attended Shaolin International Schools, focusing on martial arts, fitness, and meditation. Following this, they pursued a degree in Economics and Philosophy from La Trobe University, graduating in 1995. From 1998 to 2008, Walter attended the Shaolin Temple, where they studied philosophy, martial arts, wellness, mindfulness, and meditation. It should be noted that no specific degree was mentioned for their education at the Shaolin Temple or Shaolin International Schools.
