Dan McGrath

Dan McGrath has extensive work experience in various roles and positions. Dan currently serves as an Associate Director of Delivery at Zip Co since September 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Portfolio Lead from July 2021 to September 2022 and as a Delivery Lead from February 2020 to August 2021.

Before joining Zip Co, McGrath worked at mx51 as a Delivery Lead from April 2018 to January 2020. In this role, they led the delivery of multiple cross-functional squads and was involved in developing a merchant services platform. Dan collaborated with Westpac Banking Corporation on various products, including the merchant dashboard, virtual terminal, real-time monitoring of Verifone payment terminals, support dashboard, and external-facing APIs.

McGrath also worked at DB Schenker in multiple roles. As a Scrum Master from November 2016 to April 2018, they led a squad in re-platforming a Warehouse Management System, implementing CI-CD frameworks and enhancing reliability and scalability. Additionally, they served as an IT Service Operations Manager AU/NZ from January 2014 to August 2017, managing technical support teams and ITSM processes, and successfully migrating roles to India SSC.

Earlier in their career, McGrath worked at Hewlett Packard Enterprise as a Deputy Production Support Manager from January 2008 to September 2011. In this role, they handled change approvals, crisis management, and disaster recovery procedures for the Post Office card account. Dan also served as an Innovation Champion, self-training on an HP development tool to create a website for staff to submit innovative ideas.

Furthermore, McGrath gained experience at Electronic Data Systems as a Technical Support Analyst from February 2005 to January 2008. Dan specialized in 2nd and 3rd level support, implemented ITIL processes, and gained exposure to change, incident, and problem management.

Dan McGrath attended Marple Ridge Danyers College from 2000 to 2002. During their time there, they studied Information Technology (A Level) and Design Technology (A Level). Prior to college, they attended Priestnall High School in Heaton Moor, Stockport from 1995 to 2000. Dan McGrath has also obtained several certifications, including Agile Programme Management (AgilePgM®) Foundation from PM-Partners in June 2021, Agile Project Management Foundations from LinkedIn in August 2017, ITIL Release, Control and Validation from PEOPLECERT in July 2017, DevOps Foundations from LinkedIn in June 2017, ITIL Continuous Service Improvement from PEOPLECERT in May 2015, and ITIL V3 Foundation from New Horizons Computer Learning Centers in January 2012.
