Tim Allan has a diverse work experience in various software engineering roles. Tim is currently employed as a Kotlin Software Engineer at Zip Co since November 2021. Previously, they worked at EF Education First as a Software Engineer from February 2019 to October 2021, where they focused on developing technology for online English teaching services. Before that, they worked as a Java Software Engineer at QikServe Limited from October 2017 to December 2018, primarily working on Java, Spring Boot, and MySQL for Saas Kiosk software in the hospitality sector. Tim also worked at Sky as a Java Software Engineer from October 2016 to October 2017, contributing to the development of the Rampage rules engine. Prior to that, they worked at Baillie Gifford as a C# Software Engineer from July 2015 to October 2016, integrating systems with a 3rd party application using C# and Oracle. Tim also had a contract role at Tesco Bank as a Java Software Engineer from January 2015 to July 2015, working on the Tesco Drive project. Tim Allan began their education in 1992 at the University of Bristol, where they earned a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1995. In 1996, they pursued further studies and obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Information Technology from UCL. During the same period, they also attended Beijing Language and Culture University for an intensive Chinese Language Course. In 2005, Tim undertook another Chinese Language Course at Tongji University. Later, in 2006, they briefly studied Chinese at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Tim's educational journey culminated with a distinction in Software Engineering after completing the Master of Science (MSc) program at the University of Oxford from 2007 to 2011.
