Bart Van Laer

Bart Van Laer is a Senior CMC Scientist at Ziphius, focusing on the development of scalable downstream processes that comply with GMP standards for biologics. Previously, Bart served as a Senior Scientist DSP at Eurofins CDMO, where they developed and scaled up downstream processes and managed the transfer to GMP for clinical batch production. Bart also held positions as a Postdoctoral Researcher at ESRF, studying the biophysical and biochemical differences between Neanderthal and modern human protein variants, and as a Junior Scientist at ESRF. Bart earned a PhD in Bio-engineer sciences from Vrije Universiteit Brussel, where they investigated tRNA recognition and modification by SPOUT methyltransferases and characterized the HIV Rev protein.
