Townsend D.

Townsend D. has a long and varied work experience, beginning with a Software Developer role at beehive elektronische medien, GmbH in 2000. Townsend then moved to Beehive KG as a Zope Consultant in 2002. In 2003, Townsend began a long tenure at SAP, first as an Expert DevOps Engineer, where they created development infrastructure and DevOps for cloud software projects, ran production cloud operations, and drove security assessments of applications. Townsend then moved to an Architect role, driving proof of concept projects and collaborating with other SAP developers on architecture and tools. Townsend also held a Research Scientist role at SAP. In 2019, Townsend moved to PolySign, Inc. as a Senior Platform Software Engineer, leading and collaborating on infrastructure and DevOps projects on a microservices architecture running on Kubernetes in AWS. Townsend developed automation tooling in Python and Terraform and enabled the engineering team to iterate and test rapidly on the cloud infrastructure. Townsend also took PolySign's first offering live to production. Most recently, Townsend began a DevOps Engineer role at Zippin in 2020.

Townsend D. began their education at Choate Rosemary Hall, graduating in 1997 with a high school degree. Townsend then attended Stanford University, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science in 2001. In 2002, they went on to Carnegie Mellon University, where they obtained a Master's Degree in Information Technology and Software Engineering in 2003.
