Dr. Ben Backmann

Dr. Ben Backmann serves as Vice President & Chief Counsel for the European, African, Middle Eastern, Asian Pacific, and Aquatic Health sectors at Zoetis since March 2013, having previously held titles including Chief Counsel for multiple regions and Senior Legal Director for the UK/Ireland and Central Europe. Prior to joining Zoetis, Dr. Backmann was a Partner at Dierks & Bohle Rechtsanwälte, focusing on pharmaceutical products and medical devices, and was a Senior Associate at K&L Gates, emphasizing product liability and regulatory matters. Dr. Backmann began legal career as an Associate at Taylor Wessing and earned a Doctorate in Law from the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Criminal Law from 1999 to 2002.
