Tom Short

Tom Short is an Associate Director of Outcomes Research at Zoetis, where they support beef and dairy animal health and genetics portfolios with innovative, outcomes-focused strategies and technologies. With over 35 years of experience in animal science, Tom has expertise in the design and implementation of genetic improvement programs, as well as extensive statistical skills across various research facets in animal health and production. They previously served as the Genetic Improvement Manager at PIC and as a Statistical Consultant for Pfizer Animal Health. Tom has published over 120 research articles and abstracts, contributing significantly to the field. They are currently pursuing a PhD in Animal Breeding, Genetics, and Statistics at Cornell University, alongside completing BS and MS degrees in Animal Science from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville.
