Sonja van Weely is a senior program manager at ZonMw since January 2014. Prior to this, Sonja was a scientific officer at Klankbordgroep Nationaal Plan Zeldzame Aandoeningen/Sounding Board Group National Plan Rare Diseases from January 2012 to December 2013, and at Dutch Steering Committee on Orphan Drugs from February 2001 to December 2011. Sonja was also a researcher at the Academic Medical Center in Amsterdam from June 1985 to April 2001. Sonja holds a PhD in Biochemistry and a Doctorate in Biology from the University of Amsterdam.
