Founded in 1994 by John Lizewski—our original Chief Teddy Bear Salesman—the company began as The Petting Zoo, with just three bears and a big idea. Joined by his brother JoRoy, the Master of Toys, the brand grew into a trusted partner for zoos, parks, aquariums, and retailers worldwide.

For more than 30 years, our team has designed and developed plush toys that inspire curiosity, encourage learning, and spark meaningful connections with the natural world. From sketch to stitch, every character is created with care, creativity, and a commitment to quality.

As our vision expanded, so did our brand. Zoologee represents the evolution of The Petting Zoo—a name that better reflects our focus on nature, education, and imaginative play.
