Bill McDermott

William (Bill) McDermott is an American businessman who has served as chief executive officer (CEO) of several companies, most notably SAP SE. Bill is currently an independent board member at Zoom.

McDermott began their career at Xerox in 1983, where they worked their way up to division president and corporate officer before leaving in 2000. Bill then served as president of Gartner from 2000 to 2001 before joining SAP in 2010. During their nine-year tenure as CEO of SAP, McDermott oversaw the company's transition from on-premise software to cloud computing and led SAP to become the world's largest enterprise software company. Bill stepped down as CEO in 2019 but remained on the company's board until 2020.

In addition to their work at Xerox, Gartner, and SAP, McDermott has also served on the boards of Under Armour, ANSYS, Inc., and SecureWorks. Bill joined the board of Fisker Inc. in 2020.

Bill McDermott has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management and an Executive Development Program from The Wharton School. Bill also has a Bachelor's degree from Dowling College.
