Chris McKinnon

Chris McKinnon is a Software Engineer at Zoox, with a robust background in machine learning and robotics. They earned a PhD in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from the University of Toronto, where their research focused on improving path following control for ground robots in dynamic environments. Prior to their current role, Chris worked as a Machine Learning and Robotics Engineer at Applanix Corporation, enhancing LiDAR SLAM performance and mentoring new team members. They also gained valuable experience as a Mining Analyst at ESG Solutions and served as a Summer Research Assistant at Queen's University, contributing to projects on autonomous systems. In addition to their technical skills in C++, Python, and Matlab, Chris enjoys triathlon, mountain biking in the summer, and cross-country skiing in the winter.
