Fred Bauer

Fred Bauer is a Senior Software Engineer at Zoox since April 2021, bringing extensive experience in technical leadership and software development. Prior to Zoox, Fred served as a Tech Lead at Cisco Systems for over a decade, specializing in IoT products tailored to various industries. Additional roles include Member of the Technical Staff at Xorp, Inc., where Fred contributed to early Software Defined Networking innovations, and Internet Technical Architect at Nokia, focusing on security product design and prototyping. Fred's career began at SRI as a Research Engineer, leading projects for US government agencies, and includes significant development work on networking protocols at both Nokia and PacketHop. Academic qualifications encompass a PhD and MS in Computer Engineering from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and Santa Clara University, respectively, along with a BS in EECS from the University of California, Berkeley.
